Wentworth police hosts crime awareness programme

Pamphlets with information about gender-based violence, HIV/Aids and gun violence were distributed.

MEMBERS of the Social Crime Prevention Unit together with the Victim Friendly Centre launched an awareness programme in Wentworth recently.

The initiative was made possible by the Wentworth police who visited the flats at Lansdowne Road to raise awareness with the residents there.

The team distributed pamphlets with information about gender-based violence, HIV/Aids and gun violence.

They also interacted with the community, informing them of the importance of reporting these crimes.

The station’s spokesperson, Captain Mbuso Gumede said the programme was well-received by members of the community.
