“We used to own the Bluff pet shop and doggy parlour and wanted something fun to do on weekends and that is how we find ourselves playing bowls. I’m sorry I didn’t start years ago because it is such a beautiful game out in the fresh air and get to meet new people. I fell in love with bowls and enjoy playing at different clubs. I could play every single day and every game is a challenge. Some days are amazing and others are frustrating but we just keep going and try our best” said Spack who has been playing for eight years.

Her team won first prize at the Pam Golding Ladies 4s last year in Amanzimtoti.

“When I play a game, I really put my heart into it no matter who I play with because I’m a lover of the game. The main thing when playing bowls is to always be polite, friendly and follow etiquette, that’s what makes it enjoyable. I believe bowls is a great way to get out and be active or just mingle at the club and just enjoy yourself. I’ll keep playing for as long as God allows me to,” said Spack who thanks to the WBC family for all their support.

Developmental bowls are held at the WBC every Wednesday from 14:00.
