Quins unlucky at T20 finals

The past weekend saw some good cricket with the weather holding out.

THE Castle KZN Promotion T20 finals were held on recently at the Kingsmead Cricket Stadium where Harlequins f1st XI played against Newlands 1st XI.

Harlequins won the toss and elected to bat first. In their 20 overs scored 160 for 8. Newlands batted second and scored 163 for 7, winning by 3 wickets in 17,4 overs. Devlin Dolan did his part with the ball taking 6 wickets for 10 runs.

 
Quins second side faired better in their 30 over encounter winning by 5 wickets. Heath Manicom scored 45 and Seth Overweg with 44 took the side comfortably past Spartans 140 run total in 20 overs.
 
 
Theuns Jacobs and his thirds had a tough game against Silver Saints winning by just 9 runs. Jacobs top scoring with 34 runs on a slow outfield, was the difference in this match. Quins bowlers were on form keeping extras to a minimum.
