Yellowood Park festival to honour community heroes

Entry will be free, however, donations of cash, cat and or dog food are encouraged.

IN THE noble spirit of ubuntu, like-minded Yellowwood Park residents banded together to plan a community festival.

This exciting event will be hosted at the Yellowwood Park Sports Grounds on Saturday, November 27. The day will be to thank residents for standing together during the unprecedented civil unrest in July.

A range of exciting activities are in store for residents including stalls selling the freshest goodies and a raffle. There will be a stage set up on the field which will accommodate no more than 1 500 people at a time.

Performances will start at 13:00 and the last one will be at 21:00. On stage will be Craig with bagpipes, the Ningizimu Special School’s band, Jerome Govender, Msizi Shembe from Metro FM, Shed 14, Nkanyiso Xaba (Nkarh) and Yellowwood Park’s own singing sensation, Kirtsy-Ann Stephens.

Entry will be free, however, donations of cash, cat and or dog food are encouraged. Take your family to this event bring meat and salads, braai fires will be provided.

Camp chairs, gazebos and blankets will be allowed. No glassware or drinks will be allowed, as they will be on sale on the day. Covid-19 protocols will be observed.

There will be plenty of parking and security. For more information call Jacques Stephens on 078 398 3609 or Priya Naidoo on 083 388 7237.
