Bluff teenagers escape hail of bullets unscathed

Brighton Beach's detective services are investigating a case of attempted murder.

BRIGHTON Beach police responded to the scene of a shooting on the Bluff at about 14:45 on Tuesday, November 16.

According to the station’s spokesperson, Captain Louise le Roux, it is alleged that the two victims, 19, were on their way back home from a shopping trip. They were travelling in a Nissan Hardbody.

“As they were about to turn into their home’s premises, an unknown Etios Cross came from behind and started shooting at their vehicle. The occupants took cover inside their bakkie by laying down on the seat, resulting in the bakkie losing control and stopping at a neighbour’s premises.

“It is alleged that there were four perpetrators in the Etios Cross, three were armed. The victims were taken to hospital for treatment by family members who confirmed they were not seriously injured,” she said.

Authorities attended to the scene. Le Roux added that the motive for the shooting is not yet known.
