Brighton Beach SAPS support breast cancer awareness
Brighton Beach Family Violence Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) were empowered on matters relating to their health and wellness recently.
AS part of breast cancer awareness month, the women of Brighton Beach SAPS and the Brighton Beach Family Violence Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) were empowered on matters relating to their health and wellness.
A breast cancer information guide was distributed to all female staff, which was researched and developed by Captain Louise Le Roux.
“I am hopeful that this health and wellness brochure will encourage my fellow female colleagues to include a breast self-examination as part of their monthly health care routine as early detection does save lives. We must on a continuous basis showcase support for the fighters while admiring the survivors and honouring the taken,” said Le Roux.
The guide included information on facts and myths about breast cancer, risk factors, symptoms, diagnosis as well as how to conduct breast self-examination is showcases and possible physical signs of breast cancer symptoms. Contact details for support groups contact were also provided.
