Durban South councillors retain positions as votes finalised

The Local Government Elections results are in for ward 64, 66 and 68.

VOTES have been tallied and the people have made their voices heard by marking their ballots.

Residents cast their votes on Monday, November 1, in one of the most significant Local Government Elections in recent history.

The results are in and Gavin Hegter, Zoë Solomon and Aubrey Snyman remain as the public representatives for wards 64, 66 and 68, respectively.  All three councillors represent the Democratic Alliance.

Gavin Hegter (Ward 64)

“Dear residents of eThekwini Ward 64, it is an honour and privilege that you have chosen me to serve you for another term as your ward councillor. I will continue the fight for the services that you deserve,” said Hegter, who represents Montclair, Woodlands, Woodhaven, Yellowwood Park and parts of Seaview.

Zoë Solomon (Ward 66)

“The people have spoken! I’m all yours for the next five years. Thank you. You can be assured of my best at all times, with much love,” said Solomon, who represents the Bluff.  

Aubrey Snyman (Ward 68)

“Thank you to everyone who came out to vote. It is much appreciated. I will continue to assist wherever I can and to implement our manifesto to provide better service delivery to our community,” said Snyman, who represents Wentworth and a part of Merebank.
