MONTCLAIR Mall has announced that it will remain closed until further notice after being completely looted in the previous riots.
The mall was stripped of everything while some shops were set alight during the ransack.
“There are protocols that we need to follow and be compliant with regarding the reopening of our mall. The safety of our shoppers is paramount and we need to ensure our mall is structurally and electrically sound before the opening of our doors.
“In light of recent events, we would like to thank our community for assisting in cleaning the outer property of Montclair Mall. It is acts like these that show us and the world what community family is all about. The safety of our shoppers is paramount. Please stay tuned to our social media pages as to when we will reopen.
“Thank you once again to our wonderful community for all your efforts and patience during this challenging time. We thank you for your patience regarding this matter and we apologize for any inconvenience caused. We too, can’t wait for Montclair Mall to reopen,” reads a statement from the mall’s centre management team.
