Hijackers at large

A search for the suspects yielded no results.

TWO unknown men are wanted in connection with an attempted hijacking in Wentworth on Wednesday, 10 March.

Members of PT Alarms’ Tactical Unit responded to the scene of the incident on Olive Grove where an e-hailing service driver was accosted by two men.

“Upon arrival at scene, it was determined that the suspects stole the driver’s cash and cellphone as they attempted to hijack his Toyota Avanza.”

“The driver lost control of the vehicle and it somersaulted. The suspects fled on foot prior to the arrival of the tactical officers. Emergency services were also on the scene. A search for the suspects yielded no results,” said the security company’s spokesperson, Trishen Govender.
