Wentworth Angels grateful for continued support

The organisation, through donations and sponsorship, still serves wholesome cooked meals and gives out grocery hampers to those hardest hit by the repercussions of the pandemic.

ONE year into the pandemic, with resilience and persistence, the Wentworth Angels continue to extend a helping hand to the community.

The organisation, through donations and sponsorship, still serves wholesome cooked meals and gives out grocery hampers to those hardest hit by the repercussions of the pandemic.

“Many people were left unemployed and it would take time for them to get back on their feet. We continue to help when we receive sponsors.”

“We have now dedicated our Saturdays to fundraising to keep the feeding scheme running. We thank all organisations that joined under the umbrella of the feeding scheme and working hand-in-hand. Thank you to our sponsors who continue to support our vision,” said founder Tracey Williams.

She also extended gratitude to the organisation’s new volunteers, Leona Lewis and Terry Snell, who is a teacher at Fairvale Secondary School.

“We once again embarked on a toiletry drive for the youth of our community. Last week we were requested to assist a young woman with stationery and toiletries.”

“We purchased what she needed and blessed her with a little extra as she resides in a shelter with her mom. Monday, 8 March, we were again asked to assist three young women from the community with toiletries. We didn’t hesitate and purchased the items they needed with a bit of extras.”

The organisation fundraises every Saturday at Friends Car Wash at 103 Silvertree Road, Wentworth. Funds go towards the cooked meals and assist the youth as well as sundry costs the group incurs.

“Our appeal is assistance for toiletries for us to have prepared packs for the youth. The packs consist of pads, panty liners, roll-on, bath soap, two masks, sanitisers, lotion and Future Life porridge. We thank our sponsors to date who continue to support the organisation in kind,” she added.
