“The suspects appeared before the Durban Magistrates Court on Tuesday, 2 March on charges of tampering and destroying essential infrastructure.”

A STERN warning to residents is issued to ensure they keep security doors or gates closed at all times or where possible.

This comes after a woman was held at gunpoint in her home during a robbery on Tuesday, 2 March at about 2.30pm.

“The victim was concentrating on her task at hand on the computer at her home on Wagtail Walk, Yellowwood Park. She was surprised by the entrance of two armed unknown males through an ajar door. They both pointed at her with a firearm and told her to keep quiet.”

“They grabbed hold of her laptop and other electronic equipment. The suspects went to her bedroom and thereafter left by jumping over a concrete wall and disappearing. The investigating officer is D/SGT Msizi Msomi,”  said Vijiam.

Robbery with a firearm
RESIDENTS are warned to always be alert and conscious of their surroundings. This includes taking note of suspicious vehicles and people.

On Tuesday, 2 March at about 6.30pm a man was on Delalle Road in Woodlands with friends when he was approached by occupants of an unknown car.

“One of the suspects alighted the vehicle and pointed a firearm at the victim, who was standing with his friends demanding the victim’s cell phone. The victim threw his cell onto the ground. The unknown male picked up the cell and ran away,” said Vijiam.
