WENTWORTH Angels are appealing to businesses and individuals to help make vitamin packs, including zinc, Vitamin D and C, menthol crystals and a lemon solutions, for families affected by Covid-19.
“We started this programme two months ago. We have been getting positive feedback from people who have tested positive and isolating at home.”
“We have run out of vitamin packs and need your assistance. We would also like to build them a little grocery hamper with nutritional groceries to assist them in the fight against Covid-19,” said founder, Tracey Williams.
The hamper will consist of vegetables, honey, noodles, oats, dhal, tea, sugar, powder milk and other essential items.
Tracey said the consumption of alkaline foods is important in the elimination of the virus. Bananas, avocado, garlic and mango are among this food group.
“We have started the soup kitchen again and are appealing for sponsorship which is very slowly coming in to provide a meal daily. We cater to large numbers in the range of 300 to 500 people.”
“For a weekly preparation, we require 50kg rice, 80kg sugar beans, 50kg dhal, 50kg mielie meal, 30kgs onions, 70kg potatoes, 50kg samp, 40kg carrots, 30kg butternut, spinach, soya mince, cabbages, peppers, 10 1kg garlic and ginger and meaty bones. We also looking for sponsorship for sanitisers and masks,” she added.
Items can be dropped off at 42 Parbhani Road, Merebank or a donation can be made into the organisation’s bank account, using the following details:
