Dance Movement back with a bang

Dance Movement will be hosting auditions at 114 Bluff Road at Bluff Tyres on Saturday, 6 February at 8.30am.

THE internationally renowned Dance Movement studios will be opening their dancing doors for new recruits and youth to join their studio in 2021.

Administered under the non-profit organisation, the Wentworth Arts and Culture Organisation and funded by the National Arts Council, they will be hosting auditions at 114 Bluff Road at Bluff Tyres on Saturday, 6 February at 8.30am.

For 14 years Dance Movement has pioneered dance and excellence of arts for the youth in the community and offer dance training in Hip hop, jazz, contemporary, break dancing, and other styles too. Students will also have an opportunity to perform in competitions, dance productions and festivals that Dance Movement produces throughout the year providing a platform for their dancers to be exposed to the arts industry.

Currently their digital online dance production Dance Virtualosity is running on Webticket that is going viral around with the world. Rondean Hughes who has been a part of Dance Movement for nine years has achieved much with her dance career.

She has performed in numerous productions and festivals and has worked with big choreographers like Rudi Smit from Cape Town and has also represented South Africa internationally at the UDO World Championship Street dance competition in England 2019 where she competed against many countries, and she achieved 5th place for her duet and 4th with her Dance Movement team.

She is currently performing in Dance Virtualosity and has won many awards for her dancing efforts inclusive of receiving a bursary from Dance Movement to study the arts at tertiary level. Dance Movement is regulated and complies with the covid-19 protocols and all dancers wishing to join need contact the studio first to book their spot and must arrive with a mask and sanitizer.

All ages between 5 to 22 years are welcome. Bookings are essential for the entry and must be confirmed by contacting 082-683-9665.
