A CASE of murder is being investigated by Brighton Beach police following the brazen shooting that took place in broad daylight on Sunday, 17 January on the Bluff.

In a video circulating social media, three unidentified men are seen jumping out a car, armed with firearms. Two men proceed to a parked stationary vehicle, shortly after an occupant gets into the car, and continues to shoot countless times. The suspects then return to their running, unoccupied getaway car.

Brighton Beach police spokesperson Captain Louise Le Roux said that she had been informed that the victim had been in the area, visiting friends.  “As he left the premises, he got into his vehicle unaware that he would be a victim to a shooting. The man succumbed to his injuries and passed away.

“No arrests have been made. The motive is unknown at this point and a case of murder has been opened at the station. Informers have been activated and detectives are working round the clock to solve the case,” said le Roux.

Brighton Beach police appeal to any witnesses to report any helpful information anonymously to the SAPS Crime Stop Line on 08600 1011.
