Suspect arrested for shooting Metro cop

The suspect is in police custody.

POLICE have arrested a suspect who brazenly shot at a Metro police officer on Sunday, 13 December.

According to reports, the officer, who was on duty, was travelling with his family in Montclair at the corner of Kenyan Howden and South Coast road when the incident happened. Metro police responded swiftly to the scene to find that their member had sustained a gunshot injury to the neck.

He was rushed to hospital and had the bullet removed on Monday, 14 December.

“I can confirm that a case has been opened and a suspect has been arrested,” said Captain Derek Vijiam of Montclair SAPS.
