PT Alarms Tactical Units responded to the Merebank Ridge area after receiving reports of a robbery and attempted abduction on Narbada Road.

A MEREBANK woman was left shaken after being a victim to a robbery on Tuesday, 3 November.

PT Alarms Tactical Units responded to the Merebank Ridge area after receiving reports of a robbery and attempted abduction on Narbada Road.

Members together with residents searched for three occupants in a white double cab after a traumatised woman reported that she had been accosted and robbed of her cellphones while walking along Narbada Road. The victim alleged the vehicle had an NUZ number plate.

“The three males also attempted to pull her into the vehicle but she fought them off and was quickly assisted by an unidentified good samaritan passerby. The woman was visibly shaken after her close call. Police were alerted and responded to the area,” said spokesman of PT Alarms, Dhevan Govindasamy.

Govindasamy urged women and children in the area to walk in groups. “Children should always be accompanied by adults. Women should refrain from walking alone as there are ruthless criminals lurking in the shadows waiting to strike,” he said, adding that PT Alarms Tactical and Response Units are on high alert in the area.
