Three arrested for drug possession

The accused appeared in the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 28 October. 

IN its continued mandate to curb the illegal drug trade in the province, the KZN Drug and Firearm Units arrested three suspects in Montclair and Morningside on Tuesday afternoon, 27 October.

“The suspects, aged between 26 and 35, were arrested after they were found in possession of 79 capsules of rock cocaine, one large moon of cocaine, 10 mandrax tablets, 25 pieces of rock cocaine, a plastic packet of methcathonone and two plastic packets of crystal meth. The total value of the recovered drugs is R8 500,” said the provincial spokesperson, Captain Nqobile Gwala.

The three accused appeared in the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 28 October.

The Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant-General Khombinkosi Jula praised the police officers for their perseverance in rooting-out drug dealers in the province.
