Three injured in Wentworth shooting

Detectives from Wentworth SAPS are investigating the attempted murder cases.

A WOMAN, aged 37, together with two male teens were rushed to hospital after being involved in a shooting incident on Monday, 26 October in Woodville Road.

The scene was attended by local detectives and vispol members of Wentworth police. “It is alleged that a female victim was seated in her vehicle when two male suspects fired gunshots into the yard, injuring both males. The female victim alleged that the one suspect walked around her bakkie and fired shots, injuring her stomach. 

“They were all transported to Wentworth Hospital having sustained serious injuries. The empty cartridges were seized from the crime scene. The motive for this shooting is still unknown,” said Captain Mbuso Gumede.

A case of attempted murder with three counts is being investigated by detectives. Witnesses to the shooting are urged to call Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or Wentworth SAPS on 031-451-6240/6241/6242.
