People Mover bus service resumes

Employees have agreed to return to work and the employer committed to engaging with the union last week to discuss the issues and a way forward.

COMMUTERS and the general public are advised that the People Mover Bus service has resumed.

Employees have agreed to return to work and the employer committed to engaging with the union last week to discuss the issues and a way forward.

In an earlier statement about the bus strike, eThekwini Transport Authority (ETA) erroneously said Tansnat operates People Mover buses, however, they are operated by Copper Sunset, a private operator.

“To this effect, that version is hereby unconditionally retracted. We wish to unequivocally apologise to Tansnat, the media, commuters and the general public for the confusion that our earlier statement has created.”

“The municipality is committed to ensuring a safe and reliable service in the best interest of public transport users,” said spokesperson for the city, Msawakhe Mayisela.
