South Durban Basin management offices temporarily closed

The City is doing everything within its power to ensure that Covid-19 regulations are applied strictly to prevent the spread of the virus.

THE South Durban Basin Area Based Management (SDB ABM) offices in Bluff Road are temporarily closed as they are currently being sanitised and will open to the public early next week.

Ethekwini Municipality spokesperson, Msawakhe Mayisela said, “We apologise to the public who use the facility for the inconvenience.”  The City is doing everything within its power to ensure that Covid-19 regulations are applied strictly to prevent the spread of the virus. He explained, “Staff have been issued with face masks and face shields. Offices have been sanitised and we will also be rolling out the installation of screens in frontline offices.”

“The City will ensure that high levels of hygiene prevail and the number of people going to the customer centres will be managed. Customers will also be screened upon entry.”

The municipality urges the public to ensure that they wear a mask, practise social distancing of at least 2 metres away from the next person and sanitise or wash their hands with soap and water for 20 seconds regularly to slow the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

The City encourages residents to make use of the online facilities available to pay their bills if possible. Customers can access their utility bills on the following link: https://www.durban.gov.za/Online_Tools/Pages/eAccount_Registration.aspx

Water faults can be reported via WhatsApp to 073 148 3477 or toll free 0803111111.
Electricity faults can be reported via WhatsApp to 076 791 2449 or toll free 0803111111.

This will limit movement and prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus, which is seen as a serious threat.
