Montclair Junior learners collect donations for Crow

Operations director at Crow, Clint Halkett-Siddall said the generosity of others makes their work possible.

MONTCLAIR Junior Primary School embarked on a donation drive in its continued efforts to teach its learners about the benefit of giving. Their outreach programme extended a much-needed helping hand to the Yellowwood Park based Centre for Rehabilitation of Wildlife (Crow).

Armed with a wishlist, learners were encouraged to donate what they could from home and individually made their mark in making a difference in the lives of animals at Crow.

A special hand over assembly was held at the school on Friday, 21 February, where Crow’s environmental education officer, Londiwe Kunene, gave the learners an enthusiastic and interactive presentation about their work at the organisation.

Learners shower Crow’s environmental education officer, Londiwe Kunene, with love after she gave them an insightful presentation about the organisation.

Operations director at Crow, Clint Halkett-Siddall said the generosity of others makes their work possible.

“On behalf of Crow’s board, management, staff and all the animals that cannot speak for themselves, I thank Montclair Junior Primary School for the massive donation of items from our wishlist.”

“It is only through the kindness and generosity of individuals, such as the learners that allow Crow to rescue, rehabilitate and eventually release over 4 000 indigenous wild animals that come through our doors on an annual basis.”

“Without the support, it would not be possible for us to save the lives of injured and orphaned wildlife and offer them a second chance of a free life in the wild where they belong,” he said.
