Bluff orange bag collections resume

A new contractor started collecting the bags throughout the ward on Monday, 27 January.

THE major issue of orange bag collections on the Bluff over the past few months were due to challenges experienced by the appointed contractor. A meeting held on Wednesday, 22 January with the senior manager of DSW Education to determine a way forward.

The temporary contractor currently collecting orange bags will no longer collect orange bags on the Bluff as of Friday, 24 January. A new contractor started collecting the bags throughout the ward on Monday, 27 January. This contractor previously worked within the Bluff area and has substantial knowledge of the various roads across the ward.

The councillor’s office will monitor the performance of the appointed contractor to ensure that the challenges previously experienced do not occur again. For more updates follow the Bluff Community Noticeboard Facebook page.

Uncollected bags can be reported to dsw@durban.gov.za or by contacting 031-303-1665 or 031-468-3272. The temporary contractor can also be contacted on 073-612-1155.
