Montclair police successfully activate campaign

Pamphlets on safety were handed out to motorists and pedestrians.

THE CORNER of Montclair and Kenyon Howden Roads were abuzz with police officers from the local branch during their 16 Days of Activism campaign activation on Wednesday, 4 December. Pamphlets raising awareness on festive safety including that of community safety, theft from vehicles and remote jamming were handed out to motorists and pedestrians.

Communications officer for Montclair SAPS, Captain Derek Vijiam said it is important for residents to not let their safety guards down during the festive season and that crime is still a reality. “This event was to create awareness in the local community with a hands on project. The campaign was in line with the national project of 16 Days of Activism against violence of women and children and the response appeared positive judging by the hooting and thumbs up from motorists,” he said.
