Prize-giving weekend at Woodlands Bowling Club

The shirts and skirts breakfast was played at Woodlands Bowling Club on Sunday, 24 November, in cool cloudy weather.

First overall winners were Tommy Simpkins and Robin Grobler on 4+11 and second overall winners were Arnie and Rina Harper on 4+7. Jason Hewer grabbed both money boards and walked away with R60. Cave James won the roast pork meat raffle.

On Saturday, 30 November, the club will have their prize-giving to start at noon.

All members to wear club colours.

The club invites the community to join them for another day of fun bowls on Saturday, 30 November, starting time 1pm for 1.30pm. R20 includes the game, refreshments, snacks and hot dogs afterwards. Wear flat shoes and bowls will be supplied to those that don’t have.

On Friday night, 22 November, the snowball was a carry over as Andrew Carstens was not there, with the winning number 85. The three meat draws were won by Ansie Holder on number 199, Derek Botha on number 47 and Gordon Tarboton on number 68. Next Friday’s meat draw will be lamb roast and two pork roasts.

The any pairs competition takes place on Wednesday, 4 December.

These will be the club’s last games until February next year because the greens will be closed for maintenance.
