Toti women’s side take the win in Bluff tourney

The annual Bluff women’s tournament took place this past weekend and a fabulous time was had by all who entered.

It was Doreen Salmonds’ side from Amanzimtoti that emerged as narrow winners when they edged out Monique Wells’ side from Hillary by four points to take the title for the second year running.

The sportsman prize was won by Maria Cavanagh’s Wentworth side and took home the monkeys. The Booths hamper was won by Jay Retief while Monique Wells won the 50/50 board.

A big thank you to Janice Rogers and her team of helpers for an excellently organised event.

This month’s edition of the June Foster/ Glynnis Macrory 3-2-1 killer was played on Friday morning, 1 November, followed by June Foster’s tasty curry for lunch. The overall winners on the day were Gary Moffat and Ivor Aylward on a 4+36 while the session prizes were won by Tom Cloete and Robbie Carr on a 2+12 and Dave Arnold and Cleve Hein on a 2+30.

Llewellyn Scroobie had the most touchers with seven. Steve Evenwell took home the roast beef and Brian Smith was successful on the 50/50 board. Ben Venter and Colin Howes got the sportsman prize with a spectacular 0-42. The joker draw was a carryover on Friday night as Chanel Geldenhuys couldn’t locate the elusive card and the pool now stands at R1 522.

Kurt Spack’s number came out in the attendance draw, but he was not present and forfeited the prize. The Lotto draw was also a carryover and the pool is now at R955.

Members are asked to watch the notice board for upcoming events and postings as they are coming to the end of their bowling year and all competitions need to be finalised for prize giving.
