Help police solve rape case

Detectives at the Brighton Beach Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit are requesting for information on the whereabouts of the men pictured in the identikits. They are estimated to be aged between 23 and 24 and detectives believe they can be of assistance in a rape case that is under investigation.

“It is alleged that a 16-year-old female was sexually assaulted by two men on Saturday, 13 July, at 8.30am, while she was on her way to school. The victim was forced into a vehicle at gunpoint by two suspects who took her to an unknown location where she was raped. She managed to escape and reported the matter to Cato Manor Police who transferred the docket to the Brighton Beach Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit for further investigation,” said SAPS KZN spokesperson, Lt-Colonel Thulani Zwane.

Zwane added that they appeal to anyone with information that can be of assistance in the investigation to contact Dt-Sgt Bouverie on 081-046-3162, 031-451-8000 or report anonymously to CrimeStop on 086-001-0111.
