Diwali a farce?

Hindu friends of mine, celebrate Diwali, with beautiful coloured lamps. They feed the poor and manifest love. Where did this evil rear its ugly head? The people that reverence animals suddenly torture animals with a barrage of man’s thunder? When did lights revert to artificial thunder? I believe the true Hindus are distressed, at the hostile way, the non-conformers, torture animals and fellow human beings.

Sadly, the recently introduced law banning the sale and use of fireworks was blatantly ignored by many offenders. There is another group, of non-Hindu offenders who impress their children with a tormenting supply of fireworks and disregard the suffering of animals and neighbours.

I sympathise with the Metro Police. They have the mammoth task, of attempting to control a large portion of deviant Durban population. Should we all join hands and discourage the use of human thunder? The suppliers of fireworks should be handed a worthy fine for their stock of fireworks. All stock of fireworks should be confiscated.

Another solution could be presented. Areas away from residential housing could be designated, for the die-hards that waste vast sums of money on fireworks. In reality the wasted money could be applied in the true spirit of the Hindu people who feed the poor.
