JUST IN: Man trapped in Bluff structural collapse

Rescue Care paramedics arrived on scene to a structural collapse where the man was still trapped in the sand.

A MAN has been trapped and pinned down under a sand collapse at a construction site at Watsonia Road, Bluff this afternoon, 1 October.

Rescue Care paramedics arrived on the scene to a structural collapse where the man was still trapped in the sand. Paramedics, together with other construction workers, worked together to free him. “The man has sustained moderate injuries and is currently being stabilised by an advanced life support paramedic after which he will be taken to a nearby hospital for the further medical care that he requires,” said Rescue Care paramedics spokesperson, Garrith Jamieson.

At this stage, the cause of the collapse is still unknown, however, all necessary authorities are on scene and will be investigating further.
