Spreading hope and love on the Bluff

The non-profit organisation recently introduced a new component to the array of services they offer to the destitute.

A GOOD deed brightens a dark world. This simple saying becomes the reality of the everyday work carried out by the founders and volunteers of the Bluff Hope Centre (BHC) who work tirelessly to bring hope to those in need.

Three years ago BHC was born out of genuine love and compassion for the poor by Lorraine and Adam David. Together with their team of volunteers, they offer the destitute a hearty hot meal every weekday. BHC also offers services including a salon, showers and ablutions, clothing and footwear, a CV centre, basic computer training and loads of love and compassion from the amazing volunteer group. Their slogan ‘caring, sharing and transforming’ is true for those who bear testimony to how they have been influenced by BHC.

The Bluff Clinic’s Sister Boni Thusi signs up Tony Moonsamy for free medical testing.

The non-profit organisation recently introduced a new component to the array of services they offer to the destitute. BHC has partnered with Bluff Clinic to provide free medical screenings once a month to all those who walk through their doors. “It is important for everyone, regardless of where they come from, to prioritise their health and look after themselves. Prevention is better than cure and that is what we always seek to promote as the department of health hence why we jumped on board on this initiative to help the BHC,” said sister Boni Thusi who works at the clinic.

The organisation was also blessed with a donation of several packets of 5kg chicken portions by the caring staff of Edgars at Bluff Towers who came together to extend a helping hand for the organisation’s weekly feeding scheme. “All the services that we offer are free and we care for the really down and out in the community. Every day is a heartwarming experience and we are grateful for the goodwill of individuals and companies for supplying provisions.”
