The owner, Tania Scharneck, invited the senior citizens to tea, where they were spoilt with tasty strawberry cream scones, carrot cake, muffins, mealie bread and of course tea and coffee.

THE senior citizens from Malibongwe Service Centre, wearing their fancy high-tea hats, were treated to a Spring Day High Tea at the newly opened tea garden in Richard Winn Road, Wentworth.

The owner, Tania Scharneck, invited the senior citizens to tea, where they were spoilt with tasty strawberry cream scones, carrot cake, muffins, mealie bread and of course tea and coffee. Tania, who converted her garden into a tea garden, is well-known in Wentworth for her baking skills. One of the senior citizens, Cynthea Sozoyi, said, “We were greeted at the gate by well presented and trained young waiters, who directed us to our chairs. They then took our orders and served us with a smile. Thank you Tania for inviting us to tea.” The event ended on a high note with singing by senior citizen Virginia Sutherland.
