You’ve been involved in a car accident and you and your passengers are injured. Your car is totalled and it was not your fault.
Medical bills, car repairs, insurance and so on causes immense stress after the accident. The Road Accident Fund exists to provide cover for loss or damage resulting from death or bodily injury caused by the negligent driving of motor vehicles.

According to the RAF website you can claim for:
- Past and future hospital and medical expenses.
- Past and future loss of income or earnings.
- Past and future loss of support for a dependent of a deceased victim.
- General damages for pain, suffering and disfigurement in the case of bodily injury. (This is determined after examining the extent and severity of the injury). In respect of claims arising on or after 1 August 2008 general damages are only paid for serious injury.

How to claim for Road Accident Fund:
According to the website you will need a claim form which is available on the website, accompanied by an affidavit with the following information:
- Full particulars of the accident,
- Statements of witnesses,
- Police reports,
- Hospital and medical records,
- Vouchers and documents in support of amounts claimed.
