Three Wanderers bowlers reach All Natal Pairs quarter finals

This weekend saw the All Natal Pairs take place in Pietermaritzburg.

Durban Wanderers entered three sides, with Steve van Rooyen and Peter Vink progressing the furthest. At time of going to press they had reached the quarter finals. The club wishes them well in the next rounds. Sunday, 18 August, saw the no fills, no fuss any pairs take place with a record 16 sides entering. The prizes were hotly contested with overall spoils going as follows: Sportsman’s prizes went to Thomas Simpkins and Robbie Carr on a 0-20, Kim Hawkins and Lorinne Hawkins claimed the first session on a 2+10, second session went the way of Robin Grobler and Jimmy Neill on a 2+17, second overall went to Ron Davids and Judy Green on a 4+14, with Tom Cloete and Russell Shepherd claiming the overall prize on 4+16. Friday’s various meat pack winners were: lamb pack – Jeff Bolt, beef – Thomas Simpkins, pork roast – Cave James, beef roast – Debbie Rojas, chicken pack – Rob Philogene, chicken – Greg McGuiness. The R600 snowball was a carry-over, as Yvonne Rich was not present. The Friday lotto was a R940 carry-over, as no one guessed the correct three numbers drawn.

On Friday, 23 August, the club will have DJ Mike entertaining the crowd, so go and support.
