#Women’sDay: SAPS treat seniors in Wentworth [PICS]

Host, Les van Niekerk, brilliantly kept the oldies on their feet, all smiles and feeling young at heart with activities as part of the programme.

WENTWORTH SAPS went over and above the call of duty on Wednesday morning, 7 August, to treat senior women residents to a fun-filled morning of games, dances and a scrumptious lunch.

As part of the Women’s Month festivities, the police from the Wentworth branch together with various sponsors hosted the seniors at Grace Tabernacle Church Hall. Host, Les van Niekerk, brilliantly kept the oldies on their feet, all smiles and feeling young at heart with activities as part of the programme.

“We’re here as your children, friends, and neighbours to honour you as our mothers during your month. We’re here to give praise and thanks to God almighty. The day is all about you, that’s why we want you to have a lovely time and enjoy yourselves because we went out of our way to make today special,” said the high spirited Les, who then broke into a song, showcasing his awesome singing and guitar skills.

The programme began and ended with a prayer, with various speakers taking to the stage with items of upliftment.

Pastor Takalani Mufamadi closed the programme with a sermon and a motivational talk about the strength and role of women in society.
