Here's the latest crime round up from Montclair Saps for the past week.

Carjacking

On Friday, 19 July at about 8.30pm a complainant was driving his silver-grey Toyota RunX, motor vehicle with his wife. While he was stationary at the traffic light at Pendlebury Road towards Lamontville, three unknown males came from the bush, all armed with firearms. “They instructed the complainant to sit in the back seat with two of the suspects. One jumped into the driver’s seat and drove off. They drove until they reached the Ngonyameni area, where they instructed the complainant and his wife to jump out from the vehicle. Victims jumped out in fear of their lives and ran for help. No were shots fired,” explained captain Derek Vijiam.

Carjacking

On Saturday, 20 July, at about 8.35pm, a complainant was stationary at the Halifax Circle, Montclair in his Nissan March vehicle when four unknown males jumped out from a white VW Polo with an unknown registration which had been parked on the side of the road and approached him. “One suspect pulled out the firearm and instructed him to jump out. Suspects jumped into the complainant’s vehicle and drove off,” explained Vijiam.

Carjacking

On Saturday, 20 July, at about 5.45pm, a complainant was stationary at a traffic light on the South Coast Road off-ramp to Himalayas Road, in a bronze Toyota Yaris hatchback, when four unknown males pointed a gun at her. “They forced her to sit at the back seat of the vehicle then they drove off. Suspects drove the vehicle to an unknown place where they removed the tracker. After that, the suspect drove the vehicle to K-section where they dropped the complainant off after they demanded bank cards with pins and cell phones,” said Vijiam.

Carjacking
On Sunday 21 July, at about 2.42pm, a complainant was stationary at a traffic light on the South Coast Road off-ramp to Himalayas Road in his white VW Polo hatchback, with his mother. “Three unknown black males pointed a firearm at him. They forced his mother out of the vehicle and forced him to sit at the backseat of the vehicle. They then drove off. During the incident, the suspects robbed him of his wallet and cellphone. They drove to an unknown place and tied his hands with an extension cord and told him to sit there until they left. He had been left stranded in Isipingo.

Murder
On Thursday, 25 July, at about 10pm, the deceased, Jabu Dlamini, 44, was in her room with her roommates and boyfriend drinking liquor at SJ Smith hostel, Wema. According to Vijiam the boyfriend started an argument with the deceased. “He took a knife and stabbed the deceased once on the left of the chest and fled the scene. The roommates then went to sleep and when they got up they found the deceased lying dead on the floor. The suspect’s whereabouts are unknown at this stage and investigation is still pending.

House Robbery

On Saturday, 27 July, at about 12.30pm, a complainant was in her Woodlands house, when she heard a noise by the door. “Upon checking the noise, she noticed six unknown males breaking the burglar guard of her door. All suspects entered into the house and held her up at gunpoint. Suspects took her wedding rings from her finger and other suspects went into the other rooms and took two laptops, a Samsung TV, a video camera and BMW car keys, before leaving the scene in a white Polo Vivo sedan with unknown registration numbers. All suspects were wearing balaclavas and gloves,” said Vijiam.

Carjacking

On Saturday, 27 July, at about 3.15pm, a complainant was stationary at a traffic light on the South Coast Road off-ramp to Himalayas Road in her silver Polo when she was approached by two unknown males and pointed a firearm at her and forced her out of the vehicle. “The suspect fired two shots in the direction of the complainant, but they missed her. The suspects jumped into the vehicle and drove off,” said Vijiam.
