Bluff’s Lt King pool gets an upgrade

According to ward 66 councillor, JP Prinsloo, colourful picnic benches and covers will be installed within the pool precinct to improve the look and feel of the pool area.

UPGRADES to the Lt King Park Swimming Pool on Smith Drive, Bluff means that you can look forward to a safer and more colourful swimming environment. The pool is closed until Friday, 26 July. This is due to the necessary upgrades and repairs in and around the facility implemented by eThekwini Municipality.

The repairs will include the replacement of all gutters, downpipes, ceilings, damaged precast walls, fencing, and any missing razor barbed wire.

“Further upgrades to our community pool is being planned with R350 000 being allocated in the 2019/20 financial year to assess and package the replacement of the current pool tiles. Once packing has been completed the city will be able to assign capital funds to upgrade the pool in the following financial year. I have also requested that the feasibility of heating the pool be included in the assessment to increase the usage of this community asset,” said ward 66 Cllr, JP Prinsloo.

JP said colourful picnic benches and covers will be installed within the pool precinct to improve the look and feel of the pool area.

“All upgrades to the pool form a basis for the establishments of Bluff’s very own swimming club currently being created through KZN Aquatics, eThekwini and Fynnlands Combined Sports Club,” he added.
