Yellowwood Park Women’s Institute welcomes new member

Outing to Evelyn Home in Richmond will take place on Wednesday, 3 July.

Yellowwood Park Women’s Institute give thanks to Robyn Murray, Jean Ball and Marsha Hart for standing in for the club’s president, Sharon Quail while she attended the Exco meeting in Pietermaritzburg.

Thoughts at this meeting were with the family of long standing member, Anne Gace, who will be sorely missed. Thanks were extended from the family for all the assistance given by members at the funeral. The minutes of the last meeting were taken as read. Members are reminded to bring all fees up to date as there are a few still outstanding otherwise the finance is all in order. The club’s birthday party will be held on Monday, 26 August and the theme is Hawaiian, so start making your costume for the evening. The cost to each member is R20 and, if possible, bring a raffle along. The club’s social hostess, Vanessa Wilesmith then advised members about the outing to their own residential home, Evelyn Home in Richmond. This will take place on Wednesday, 3 July. Members should keep Vanessa advised if you wish to attend.

After tea the speaker for the evening, Bev Nattras showed all members how to make cards from tea bags, not the kind we think of but other ways just using a square of paper that must be folded in many different ways then placed on the card. Many members had good ideas.

Thank you as always to members who donated animal food. Vanessa Wilesmith read out the competition results and Robyn Murray closed the meeting with the WI prayer.
