Woodlands Bowling Club bowlers snatch any pairs title
Woodlands Bowling Club hosted the any pairs competition on Wednesday, 5 June.
Overall winners were Tom Cloete and Derek Stevens, second session winners were Ann Bonthrone and Honey Kitchenbrand. The roast chicken, rolls and juice sponsored by Yellowwood Park Spar was won by Denis Tarbaton. Joan Bruce snapped the R40 money board with Andy Cloete snagging the R20.
On Thursday, 6 June, the club hosted the casual 4’s breakfast. Overall winners were Andy Cloete, JoAnne Jordaan and Michael Schudel. First session winners were Harold Dix, Mike McFarland and Arnie Harper and second session winners were Mark Rodgers, Tom Cloete, Dixie Woolley and Gwen Clarke. Meat raffle was won by JoAnne Jordaan and Harold Dix won the R40 with Michael Schudel taking the R20. On Saturday, 9 June, the final of the women’s singles between Linda Hewer and Rina Harper took place. It was a close scoring game, but in the end Rina was the victor and new club woman’s single champion with a score of 21-18. A game of men’s pairs was also played between Arnie Harper and Hanno Blom against Derek Steven and Eric Coetzee with Derek and Eric the winners.
