Bluff bowlers achieve mixed results in the Port Natal league

The closing date for entries into the men’s competition is Saturday, 1 June.

BLUFF Bowling Club sides participating in the Port Natal league had a mixed bag as far as the results have shown with the men’s A side and the women’s sides losing while the men’s B and C side were victorious.

With only two rounds remaining in this year’s programme, both the men’s A and the women’s side are in the precarious position of relegation becoming a reality and will have to win their last two matches to avoid the drop. The men’s B side, however, have only to win one of their remaining games to gain promotion so the league teams have a lot to play for in the next few weeks.

There was one women senior singles match played over the weekend and Dawn Spack defeated Phyllis Maritz 21-16. There was no other games played due to the league fixtures. The men’s competition lists are on the board for members to enter their name in the spaces provided. The closing date for entries is Saturday, 1 June. The diving bell any pairs competition is scheduled for Sunday morning, 2 June and the fabricon 2-4-2 takes place on Wednesday afternoon, 12 June while the Grand Rapid Spur any pairs is being played on Sunday morning, 16 June. The pot is on R7 000 which is not a bad sum to take home if you can locate the elusive card. Members are asked to watch the notice board for upcoming events and postings.
