UPDATE: Suspects flee after fatal Coedmore Avenue shooting

Suspects, who were allegedly driving a dark coloured Toyota Tazz, opened fire on the resident and shot him three times.

A Yellowwood Park resident was tragically gunned down in cold blood in his driveway last night (Monday, 20 May) on Coedmore Avenue.

Blue Security community and media liaison officer, Andreas Mathios, said the resident drove up to the gate of his Coedmore Avenue property and was waiting for it to open when he was gunned down at around 7.10pm.

“The suspects, who were allegedly driving a dark coloured Toyota Tazz, opened fire on the resident and shot him three times in the arm, chin and below his right arm,” Mathios said.

“Paramedics arrived and declared the resident dead at the scene. An eye witness allegedly spotted the suspects fleeing down Kenyon Howden Road in a dark coloured Toyota Tazz. The motive for the shooting is unknown at this stage,” he said.

Montclair SAPS are currently investigating at the scene of the crime.
