Montclair voters make their mark

Voters at Montclair Recreational Hall shared with the Sun why it is important for one to cast their vote as an active citizen of South Africa.

The 8th of May marked the 2019 Provincial and National elections. Locals took to their voting stations bright and early armed with their ID’s to exercise their constitutional right to vote. Voters at Montclair Recreational Hall shared with the Sun why it is important for one to cast their vote as an active citizen of South Africa. Here is what they had to say:

Ambi Coopoosamy: Every single vote will make a difference. It is important to vote because we are citizens of the country. Some people don’t want to vote because they don’t trust the people who are running the country. But it’s even more reason to vote.

Graham Beaumont: For your voice to be heard on this fresh Thursday. My vote will make a difference. It’s their prerogative.

Thabani Bengani: I think it’s good to vote because it is my right and whatever issue I have the government can attend it. It is no use complaining if you don’t vote.

Ann and Mike Murphy: Its important – it’s our right and if you want to make a difference then it’s the only way. It will make a difference, every vote counts.
