Vox pops: What does voting mean to you?

Montclair residents voice their opinion on why they are voting.

The 2019 National and Provincial Elections is around the corner. Millions of South Africans will flock to voting stations around the country to make their mark on 8 May. But what does that mark mean to them and do they believe they are a making a difference by voting.

Montclair residents voiced their opinion on why they are voting:

Kerry Van Wyk: I will be voting because it’s what you must do if you want change. If the correct party wins then it will make a difference, so I encourage everyone to take the time on 8 May to go and vote.

Jackie Goncalves: I’m voting because it’s my right and I’m voting for a better change in the country. If everyone votes if gives them a voice to make a difference. And if they don’t vote then they have no right to complain.

Thuli Pepu: I’m voting because I want to see change happen and I know the vote that I cast will make a difference somehow. I have seen the difficulties that we go through as a country and I feel if I vote for the right party, all that can be improved for a better South Africa.
