Pathway patrollers take stock of problems

On their patrol, they encountered a number of issues,

BLUFF pathways leading down to Brighton Beach from Arlie Road were the target for patrollers from the Community Policing Forum (CPF) and Community Orientated Policing (COP) on Wednesday, 27 March.

They were joined by Brighton Beach SAPS to patrol the stairs, which is infamous for it overgrown bushes and provides a haven for vagrants and excessive litter.

On their patrol, they encountered a number of issues, including the overgrown paths, unmaintained steps and lights and the overgrown picnic spot on Brighton Beach.

They have also reported vagrants living in the bush halfway to Ansteys Beach. On Ansteys, the sewage manholes were overflowing, the street light along Foreshore Drive was permanently on and the substation had been vandalised. All the noted issues were reported to the relevant city departments.
