CONFIRMED: Child falls from sixth floor of Durban CBD building

A six-year-old boy is in critical condition after falling out of the window of what is believed the 6th floor of a residential flat on West Street.

A six-year-old boy has fallen out of the window of what is believed the 6th floor of a residential flat in West Street, outside the Game entrance in the Durban CBD, this morning (Friday, 22 March).

Rescue Care Paramedics reported that the child had sustained multiple injuries and was in a critical condition. “An advanced life support paramedic placed the child on a manual ventilator, before being rushed to a nearby hospital for further medical attention,” said Gareth Jamieson of Rescue Care Paramedics.

Events leading up to the child’s fall are unknown, however Metro Police was in attendance and will investigate further.
