Beauty queen inches closer to title

The 24-year-old qualified audiologist explained that as a child she always watched beauty pageants on television and was always enthralled by their glamour and beauty.

FOLLOWING a string of beauty pageant titles, Yellowwood Park pageant queen Yajna Debideen has become one of the top 18 finalists in the Mr and Miss International King and Queen of SA.

If she wins she will go on to participate in the Miss International 2019 pageant. This is the national pageant leading up to Miss International 2019, which is a Japanese-based international beauty pageant.
The winner of this pageant will be announced in June and go onto represent SA at the Miss International pageant in Tokyo later this year. An excited Yajna is honoured and privileged to be selected as one of the SA pageant finalists. “It has always been my dream to participate in the Miss International, so this feels surreal. My experience since I have been selected as a finalist has been phenomenal. The organisers have made the journey so pleasurable and easy for us contestants,” she said.

Pageant queen Yajna Debideen aims to be the next Miss International to allow her to showcase the rich diversity of SA culture globally.

The 24-year-old qualified audiologist explained that as a child she always watched beauty pageants on television and was always enthralled by their glamour and beauty. “I aspired to be a model from a young age. In 2013, I entered my very first beauty pageant which I won. Thereafter, I joined Warren Morck at Glamour Models SA and attended courses on modelling, grooming and etiquette. My modelling career spring-boarded to training contestants at beauty pageants, judging beauty pageants, compering beauty pageants, gracing the ramps at national and international fashion shows and being the brand ambassador for national and international brands,” she added.
The young beauty is passionate about women empowerment and children education and hopes to continue to advance these initiatives in her work.

She aims to be the next Miss International SA to allow her to showcase the rich diversity within South African culture on an international platform. “I would also like to eradicate myths about our beautiful country internationally and showcase to the world what South Africa is made of. On South African soil I wish to use this title to make a difference in society through various humanitarian work and projects.”
