Tanya, who is a disability patient, said they are hoping to raise the R15,000 required to have Nicky cremated. The money raised through the crowdfunding campaign was already used before Nicky’s death on her treatment. “Nicky was a vibrant, loving daughter and mother, and she always put other people’s needs before hers. I’m going to miss her smile, her sense of humour and most of all her love. I’m on a grant and we could not make provision for a funeral policy, so I’m pleading to the public and friends to help me give her a decent cremation through a funeral home. The funds which were donated were used for nappies and medication,” she explained.
Losing Nicolene has not been easy on her family as they are trying their best to cope. “Her son and I are trying to keep it together but it’s difficult – she was a star shining brightly in our lives,” she said.
Anyone who would like to donate towards Nicky’s cremation costs should call Tanya on 079-967-3471.
