Adopt these tips to live a stress-free life

There are ways to de-stress and save yourself from disappointment.

WE have all been through it, the stress that comes with exams and tests. Stress, anxiety and worry are three horsemen of sure failure and sickness. It’s the main cause of a bad memory, something that’s not good for exams or your health.

Anxiety is one of the negative effects of stress, and generally includes feelings of dread, fear or impending doom. Anxiety is what remains once the actual stressor is gone. Worry, according to researchers, is largely dominated by our emotions, rather than our good sense.

Research into the effects of worrying has determined that more than 85 per cent of things that we worry about, on average, never come to pass. And stress, is the black hole that sucks us in as the pressure of life weighs on us.

But it doesn’t have to be that way? There are ways to de-stress and save yourself from disappointment:

1: Calm down and breathe: half the time you spend overthinking, turning a mole hill into a mountain.

2: Priorities: Write a list of what needs to be done. Start from the highest priority to the lowest and strike off items of your list one by one.

3:  Study smart not hard: Start early and pay attention to the notes given to you. Pay attention to the questions in assignments and use it as a guideline when studying.

4: Time management: Before you start the day think about what you are going to do. Work your times around it and stick to the plan.

5: Eat well: Food can be healing. Take time from your busy lifestyle and sit down and eat. It gives you time to reflect.
