Karaoke Queens put SWI in festive mood

SWI looks forward to seeing all members return in February 2019

STAINBANK Women’s Institute’s president welcomed all members and special guests to the last meeting of the year on 4 December.

SWI opened with the WI prayer and thoughts for those who could not be present.

Pathways Enterprises gave a short presentation on the amazing work they do with very special children and many SWI members purchased much of the handiwork. The president then shared a few short notices, particularly about the competitions in the future. Members are urged to give this a lot of thought as to how to go ahead next year. Unfortunately, SWI is set to lose a number of members in the new year, which is always sad, particularly as most are long-standing members. Congratulations went out to Monica Wilson who has been with SWI for 50 years and received her badge from the president.

Thanks as always to members who assisted during the year. Then it was time for a delicious tea with overflowing plates. Members were again entertained by their own, very special ‘Karaoke Queens’ who sang all the songs everyone knows so well. Many thanks to Linda and Arlene.

The meeting ended with the WI prayer and thoughts to all for a very happy Christmas and a new year full of good cheer and health. SWI looks forward to seeing all members return in February 2019. Go well, go safe.
