School play showcases local talents

The play was an attempt to boost the community's interest in live theatre

MOWAT Park High School’s talented actors set the stage alight on Wednesday and Thursday evening, 26 and 27 September to perform the trilogy ‘Women are Love’.

The performances were packed with energy and great acting from the Mowat Park girls.
The well received play included two short plays entitled Love Hurts and Gogo, written by Mowat Park teacher RJ Herd, and The Kamajor – a play, written and directed by Sibisiso Ngcobo of Jazzman Productions. Ngcobo is an ex-pupil of Clairwood Secondary.

The talented writers and directors, who all hail from the Montclair and Clairwood communities, showcased their broad range of talents in dance, drama andmusic.

The play was an attempt to boost the community’s interest in live theatre and to promote ongoing awareness of women’s issues.

Women are Love lived up to its promise of an evening filled with thought-provoking performances and light-heart entertainment.
