WATCH: Create your own DIY fly repellent

Don't kill the creatures that act as natural bug exterminators.

You might have not noticed but there seems to be more flies than usual. These little buggers are everywhere.

So what can be done naturally to get rid of flies?

Don’t kill the creatures that act as natural bug exterminators. Frogs, spiders and geckos can be your friends if you just let them do the job. You will notice that once you kill or chase these three bug eaters away, the amount of flies and other insects such as mosquitoes will increase.

Natural fly repellent:

Lemon and some cloves: Cut a lemon in half and stick some cloves in it. Flies do not like the smell of citrus and will soon get rid of them.

DIY fly trap: Mix apple cider and dish soap in a jar, you can even drop a piece of rotten fruit in the mix. Cover it with plastic and poke a few holes in it. Apple cider vinegar works as an attractant because of its strong sweet odor while the dish detergent decreases the vinegar’s surface tension so that when a fly touches the surface it immediately sinks and drowns.
