Coastal clean-up effort polishes South Durban beaches

The clean up began 30 years ago and has gained traction throughout the world, including South Africa.

THOUSANDS of people from different communities flocked to Cuttings Beach and other Durban beaches on Saturday, 15 September to work together to clean the litter-strewn shores.

This was done as part of the International Coastal Clean-Up where volunteers from over 100 countries did their part to ensure their beaches and its waters are litter free. The clean up began 30 years ago and has gained traction throughout the world, including South Africa.
